- The Carbon Spin OFF is as thick as the Ultra Balsa V balsa wood, looks like balsa wood, and plays almost like balsa wood, but it isn't.
This is made possible by a new veneer combination that has never been seen before and is therefore kept secret.
The outer veneers are made of walnut, and there are also two layers of carbon (a total of 7 (5+2) veneers).
This blade has tremendous power, very high speed, and actually well into the OFF+ range.
The weight is approximately 90g. A weight selection is not possible, but the maximum weight is 92g; most blades weigh 87-90g.
This blade is top-heavy and quite stiff, but the ball contact is surprisingly soft and sensitive.
The sound of the blade is also great; it delivers a decent bang on all offensive shots.
The face size is approximately 155 x 152mm (standard size).
The handles are of normal strength and fit well in the hand. The handle scales are made of solid Hinoki.
The workmanship is first-class. The wood is very robust.
This wood leads to a significant increase in spin.
The high The speed values primarily support a speed-oriented attacking game without compromise.
We recommend the Carbon Spin OFF primarily for players who play with short pimples. In our opinion, it is too fast for long pimples.
Of course, it can also be optimally combined with pimpled rubbers, but not with two very heavy rubbers. Otherwise, there are no limitations.
The Carbon Spin OFF has a certain catapult effect of its own. In combination with Chinese rubbers, it can compensate for the somewhat weaker catapult effect of these rubbers compared to rubbers from Germany and Japan. At the same time, the strengths of these rubbers in the spin area are highlighted and further enhanced. Combining this blade with rubbers such as the Dragon-L Max, you get a similar feel to combining a Tensor rubber with a conventional blade. However, if you combine this blade with a rubber such as the SpinLord Tanuki Pro, the result in terms of speed, catapult effect, and rotation should satisfy even absolute top players.
Overall, the Carbon Spin OFF is probably our best fast offensive blade, but be careful: It's really very fast. If you're primarily a passive player, this is definitely not the right choice for you. Total offense is what's needed here! However, in combination with slower rubbers, e.g., on the backhand side, controlled blocks and backspin shots are also playable.
The control is very good in relation to the speed.
The Carbon Spin OFF can easily keep up with blades from other manufacturers up to €400.00 in terms of playability and quality, only the design is a bit simpler. The SpinLord MIG2 also looks dated compared to this blade. The MIG2 is more suitable for long pimples, but we would prefer this blade for all other types of rubbers.
Caution: Due to the dark outer veneers, please do not combine with ox red rubbers!
