- The Lion Mantlet is an extremely sluggish anti-slip.

The pace of this coating is even significantly lower than that of most of the so-called "Glantis". Nevertheless, the game behavior is noticeably different from these, since the grip is favored by a classic undercutting defense. Of course, the mantlet can also be safely and briefly blocked.
Attack balls are, however, very difficult. The upper rubber of the mantlet is hard, the rather soft sponge is a damping sponge of the latest generation.
Lion is by the way also the manufacturer of almost all "Glantis" of various brands. Lion has, however, developed this coating without the help of these or other brands.
The mantlet was quite controversial among our test players - from very good to unplayable the comments were enough. Some people have also found it difficult to understand how this pad is most effective. For many players the mantlet is already too slow, some believe that it is too harmless. Others find that he is a strong weapon against strong attackers - the better the opponent attacks, the more dangerous are the returns with the mantlet. In our opinion this pad is particularly interesting for players with a weak backhand side. In combination with quicker woods you are still extremely safe with the mantlet on the backhand, but you do not have to forego punching force on the forehand side. Positive is in any case the good quality and the fair price. And in contrast to flooring like the SpinLord Sandwind, the mantlet is definitely a "real" anti, but also very innovative and independent. Just try it!
The easiest way to install this coating is with the SpinLord floor covering foil.

Very slow rubber, maybe the slowest in the market. You need power to get over the net but if you done the ball goes straight to the line surprising your opponent! Of course, you need a good forehand technic to get the advantage of the rubber. Good quality.

That's the anti I use on backhand, after several years of experimentation of practically all the antis on the market. Before Mantis, I used Spinlord Gigant (I, not II) at the end over a Sanwei Two Face (also the Red+Black Kazak C is a very good combi blade, but it's too heavy for my arm, that is always slightly suffering from epicondylitis. I find Mantis superior to other slow antis in many ways: it gives active control and reverse, meaning it's very sensitive to wrist's degree of hardening, it allows to topspin, it's effective on serves, it's almos perfectly insensitive to opponent's serve rotations. It is durable, cleans well, it's light...the best anti you'll get IMO if you play slow balls with backhand, and of course you're aggressive with forehand. My current preference for forehand is with Palio AK 47 Yellow max, as it's affordable (so I can often change it, as it wears off...), gives a LOT of spin and grant control.
