New in
- The Friendship 563 SP is a completely new rubber with its own ITTF approval, which has only a few things in common with the classic Friendship 563. This rubber is also marketed with the suffix "Legend".
Like the "old" 563, the 563 SP is a medium-length pimple.
In all other points, however, the two rubbers differ considerably in some cases.
The pimples of the 563 are cylindrical in shape. The knob surface is clearly corrugated. However, the ribbing is finer and not as coarse as on the older Friendship pimples. The pimples are quite wide, the distance between the pimples is average. In these two points, the pimple geometry of the 563 SP is the same as that of the "old" 563, but the pimples are slightly longer.
The top sheet is basically medium soft and also very elastic (it is significantly more elastic than the top sheets of all other pimple-out rubbers from Friendship). The speed of the upper rubber is, like that of the sponge, offensive in a controlled manner. This makes the 563 SP an offensive all-round rubber or a controlled offensive rubber that is only slightly faster than the "old" 563.
The build quality and durability are significantly better than the cheaper older models.
The open-pored sponge (it's the same as the 802 SP) has a degree of hardness of about 42 - 44 degrees according to our estimates and also offers a slight built-in speed glue effect. However, the sponge is not extremely fast, the speed of this rubber is mainly generated by the top sheet.
The 563 SP is particularly suitable for the typical pimple game with counter and block balls. Topspins are hardly possible with this rubber, but backspin balls are no problem.
The high disruptive effect is positive. This rubber has a "real" disruptive effect due to kinked pimples, and the ball flight curve is short, flat and not always easy for the opponent to calculate.
All in all, the 563 SP is still easy to play (although a bit more demanding compared to other Friendship pimples), effective and also very competitive in direct comparison to products from other brands. Especially players who have played rubbers like the Bomb King Roc or the Giant Dragon 612 should take a closer look at the 563 SP. The 563 SP should be an option for most players as a backhand rubber.
The 563 SP does not have the cover design shown in ox.
