The pimples on the Moxa Neptune are very long, very soft, thin and extremely elastic. The large pimple spacing results in a maximum disruptive effect.
Compared to the old Neptune, the pimple spacing is slightly larger and the pimples are even thinner. But that is not the decisive difference. The really extreme difference lies in the hardness of the rubber mixture - this is very soft on the Moxa Neptune - while the old Neptune was rather hard in the impact.
The pimple surface is very lightly (sometimes barely visible) ribbed and therefore grippy enough to meet the new ITTF standards.
The Moxa Neptune is not that easy to play because the pimples buckle very quickly. However, the disruptive effect is very high. The speed is a little slower than the old Neptune, but faster than the Moxa 955. Overall, the Moxa Neptune is a medium-fast pimple.
All shots require a strong wrist action. The soft ball contact is particularly beneficial for backspin defense. Passive blocking at the table is very effective, but not easy to play. Active disruptive shots at the table are very possible, but the pimples are too soft for an overall offensive pimple game and therefore not optimal.
In the sponge version, the Neptune is supplied with a medium-hard orange Chinese sponge.
It should be noted that the rubber in the sponge version is sometimes quite small and does not always fit every blade.
The workmanship is good, the durability is very good.
